Completed in March 2000 our new shop is fully equipped with all the tools, machinery and expertise needed to manufacture and repair buckets, as well as a variety of heavy equipment attachments and ready-mix drums.
With our lathes we can machine cylindrical parts up to 20'' diameter by 80'' long. The larger of the two lathes has a taper attachment and a 4 1/8'' spindle bore.
The ironworker will punch holes up to 1 1/8'' diameter in plate as thick as 1/2 inch.
We use the Cincinnati milling machine to machine bores, cut keyways and for face milling flat surfaces. The milling machine is equipped with digital read out ability for precise work.
The two-bay main shop consists of 2 overhead cranes with a combined capacity of 15 tons and 26 feet under the hook, plate rolls and a 225 ton Verson press brake. The press brake can bend any type of metal up to 14 feet wide, and 3/8'' thick. This is the only press brake of this size operating in the west shore area of Victoria.
The shop carries not only steel but also alloy plate. We provide heli-arc welding, hydraulic cylinder honing and repair, keyway cutting, plasma cutting, profile burning, punching, rolling, threading and plate forming.
